Spinal Manipulative Technique

The primary tool used by chiropractors as part of chiropractic therapy, combining multiple schools of philosophy including Diversified and Gonstead technique.

About

Spinal Manipulative Technique (SMT) is the manual technique used by most chiropractors and other physical therapy disciplines. A high velocity, low amplitude thrust is applied of the spine for reduction of spinal joint stiffness, improvement in muscle tone, as well as many other neurological and biological changes. SMT is the current standard treatment of non-specific low back pain in current practice guidelines.

Spinal Manipulative Therapy can be used in cases of:
- Discogenic Low Back Pain
- Facet Mediated Joint Pain
- Sacro-iliac Joint (SIJ) Pain
- Neck Pain
- Headache(s)
- Peripheral Joint Pain including Hip, Knee, Ankle and Wrist Pain

Dr. Sebastian will employ various chiropractic philosophies as part of his practice, including Diversified Technique and Gonstead Technique.
